On Saturday I went out to get my mail at the post office and my car wouldn’t start. The starter was turning but it wouldn’t kick over. I then went to find my jumper cables and saw that my trunk light was nice and bright so then I thought that there was something more. I checked my oil and i had a little drop on the bottom of the gauge and thought oh shit.

Made a couple of calls and waited for a couple of hours for Carol to get out of work and when I went back outside to get the cables ready for her I noticed the light was a lot dimmer, so I had a bit of hope it was just the battery.

So she came and after a few minutes I got it jumped. The engine fired right up. I immediately went to the auto store and, yes the battery was dead. So I bought a new battery and some oil and went on my way. So my car is nice and happy now $116 later. Better than having to buy a new car, but still.

I got my laptop, and I have Umbutu installed on it, and it works, Working on getting Mac on there, I have it installed, but when trying to get my sound and network drivers installed it has been crashing. So that is what I have been working on this last week. The thing that I can’t figure out is I have Vista Ultimate installed and it is taking up 23 gigs. The only other thing I have installed is Firefox and AVG. It is huge. Even Leopard isn’t that big (5 gigs).

Hopefully I can get everything working, there are people who say that they can get the sound to work but not the nic, and I have seen beta drivers for the nic. I have been trying to use them, but no luck, that is causing the kernel crashes I think. I might have to suck it up and buy a USB nic for the OSX install.

I got the GPS device to work with tagging the photos, it was user error. I didn’t turn on the option to log the time stamp. So I have it working, you can see that in the picture gallery here:

So I guess an update is in order. It has been a while and I have been lazy with this thing. It isn’t like there hasn’t been any drama going on in my life either.

The paycheck on Thursday I thought was going to be almost completely free and clear wasn’t. I was having a small water leak and it has been progressively worse, knowing what happened last time I decided to look to see where it was coming from and it was like I was looking back in time and it was my radiator again. I replaced it on Thursday and it set me back $335. I also had to pay my electric and I have yet to pay for my cable (going to do it tonight) and so this check is gone.

It is really disappointing because it seems like whenever I have the chance to get ahead shit like this happens and I fall behind. I remember that there have been several extra checks that were going to set me ahead and ended up going to the car or some other emergency I had to take care of. It is depressing. I am glad that it fell where it did and not on a rent check, but it sucks just the same.

I also think that one of my drives in my raid array has gone south. I am going to hook it up internally and then run a diag on it to be sure. If it is indeed a bad drive that means that I have lost a tera of music again. I think I am going to raid 5 it next time and suck up the 500 gigs for parity.

I need to work on Crazy Computing again. I need to get my number up and my contacts done. I just bought a phone for that line so I need to be serious about it and get my shit together so I can get some extra cash coming in. Bah. I also need to print up some more business cards and stuff too. I also need to get the uniform for the fatveganchef site and start that up too. That has been sitting dead in the water for 4 months. I really need to get this put together I have already invested a lot of time and money into it.

Ya so today I woke up early to run errands and pay bills. I also bought a WRT54g-TM router because my ZyXel was getting flaky and had heating issues. I also got my oil changed at Midas and they tried to sell me a serpentine belt. They said that it needed to be replaced becasue there was a big notch knocked out of it. I looked at it and I couldn’t see anything wrong with it. I am going to look at it again and call my mechanic and have him visually inspect it as well. If it needs to be replaced then I will have him replace it, if not then Midas can go fuck themselves.

So after buying groceries and only spending $17 I went home, set up the router (I use static and I have a few ports forwarded) I was online. I will see how things go. I also think I am having issues with firefox and may need to run a repair on it as well.

One of the items I bought was OJ. It is time to do a flush of my system and I am going to do that on Tuesday. Nothing but Psyllium and OJ for 24 hours. I have also put myself on an oatmeal diet. Eating almost nothign but oatmeal. Full of fiber to fill my tummy and lots of good stuff as well. low calories. I have been doing this for a week or so now. I need to get out the scale and track my progress. I should have started when I started the diet. Darn it.

I got the Trinity for \glitch on Thursday, I got everything all put together and it fired right up. I installed the mobo drivers and I am back in buissness! \glitch is back up! Yay!

After I installed the new memory in \gravy I noticed that I have had several programs randomly shutting down after erroring and I ran a memtest and found out that one of the sticks of memory I bought is bad. I ended up buying another stick last night to get me up to a gig again. I am glad both of them wasn’t bad.

So far four things in my current round of ebay auctoins are selling. That is a whole four cents I am going to make! Woo hoo!

< a href="">The Daily Show and the price of oil The comments are pretty interesting to read as well. Fun stuff. Pretty soon gas is going to be so high I won’t even be able to afford to go to work.

I finally got my clapboard in the mail on Monday. The first one I ordered is gone somewhere. The money from the company who wouldn’t deliver my trinity to my PO box finally refunded my money as well.

II got a notice today that the second company I ordered the trinity from shipped it out today. Hopefully I will get it by Thursday. It was shipped Priority mail from California.

I am watching American Blackout right now. It is pretty good.

Watch and may your eyes open.

It is amazing that it was a little more than 40 years ago blacks were fighting for their right to vote. What is even more amazing is they still are but it is worse because the white republicans are being even more sneaky about it. They even have people within the black race keeping black people from voting. Look up Cynthia McKinney.

This is not a Republic folks. This is a Fascist country we live in. Hopefully this will change with the coming changing of the guard. Hopefully the US will be seen with a better view from the eyes of the world.

Last night I decided to not be lazy and switch out to my old power supply. Didn’t post. I am a bit miffed. Server is down until I can get a new trinity. So frustrating.

I am trying to decide whether to buy the Ikeyplus or a brand new camcorder all together with an audio jack. The Ikey plus I can get for around $150, the Camcorder I am thinking about I can get for $250. I am not sure which way to go on this one yet.

I haven’t talked to Karla today. I received no e-mails from her. I am going to let her sit and sulk for a while. I might be getting a $5000 loan. I will find out tomorrow when I call back to the place. It sure would be nice. Wish me luck!

Today I got my W-2 in the mail. When I got home I did my taxes online and I am going to be getting $1,400 back. Not as much as I wanted but I will take it.

The security and floor light outside my apartment has been broken for a couple of weeks now. I have gone in three times to complain about it. Last time was today and I was told that they will get someone on it right away. It is still not fixed. I am not a happy person. I get home at 1 am and I need the stairs lit up.

Today I went to Compusa to look at prices for a seven port hub and Compusa is going out of business. I knew it was going to happen. It sucks because Best Buy and Circuit City don’t have the parts I usually need and buy at Compusa. They have been turning less of a computer store and more of a best buy for years which suck. I guess from now on I will have to stick to online for the most part.

I tested my power supply today and it is all good, I think my motherboard is bad. I am going to try to put in my other power supply just because in a few, but I know it is my motherboard. I was looking at motherboards today for pricing and I saw a lot of them which has only one or two PCI card slots. I need one with at least 4 slots. It will be a bit of a hunt looking for one I need.

I need chocolate!

Well the 20 minutes that I thought it would take to replace my power supply has turned into a big mess. After getting it all installed it wouldn’t post. So I checked all connections, same. REmoved the CD and drive cables same. Did some more fumbing around and same. I was really tired so I went to bed. I didn’t wake up in the mood to mess with it so it is still there. When I get home tonight I need to strip it down to the trinity and see if it will post then. Then I will go from there to see what is fucked up. On top of that the nic in my laptop isn’t setting to gigabit, I uninstalled that and reinstalled and same. I even have it manually set to use gigabit full duplex and same.

I voted today. I voted for Kucinich. currently there are 97% of the polls reporting and he has 9,459 votes even though he annouced he is out of the race. I think that is pretty decent numbers for a man who the media wouldn’t give him a chance.

I am sad. I can’t say why just yet, but if I am thinking what I am thinking then it is going to be bad news. Bad bad news.

I didn’t even realise it till today that I passed six years living in Florida on the 22nd. I can’t believe I have been here so long.

I was thinking about my time here thus far and what I have done and been. Retrospecting if you will. I am such a looser.

I worked on a bit more over the last couple of days. I got my navigation set up and got my topics as well. Luckily has been a big help in me getting stuff together. I have copies of articles and other stuff there I am going to copy over.

This was sent to me via e-mail and I thought it was disgustingly true:

The other day I noticed that the fan in my power supply in \glitch went out. It was causing the power supply to over heat and then to shut off \glitch. Another expense that I can not afford to take care of but yet can’t afford not to take care of. So now I have \glitch limping along until my new power supply comes. Also my nic on \gravy started going wonky. It decided it wanted to go into 100mbs and not 1000mbs after some tinkering I finally got that working.

I decided to sell my sk2 on e-bay to try to get some cash to pay for the power supply. I put up some other things too I have been trying to get rid of as well. I know the SK is going to sell. I have a bid on it already. Hopefully it will sell for more than $30. It is in great condition.
