I have been living in Oklahoma for almost 5 years now. I really need to start considering my living situation and decide where to go next. When I moved to Florida I really didn’t want to come back here, and was conned in coming back. I should have stayed in Florida, I think I would be in a much better much happier place than I am at now. I don’t know if I would have been at the same job in Florida or not because of the work politics, however. I miss my feet in the sand, the beautiful sunsets, the taste, smell, and feel of the salt water on my skin.

I did get to go to Spain a couple of times over the last couple of years, so I haven’t been fully deprived of the beach, and I am working on trying to go back soon. The details I am going to save for another post when I have a lot more time to write down my thoughts, however the time I spent there was for the most part enjoyable, and it made me fall madly deeply in love with Spain. It was my perfect place to be. Mountains, beach, warm weather, warm water, cool old buildings, history, art. It doesn’t snow in the beach area, but it does in the mountains, doesn’t rain much. The big downside is it is a different country and they make it really difficult for people in the US to gain citizenship and get jobs there. So that is a big challenge for me.

I have talked about Florida and talked about Spain. It would be easier to move back to Florida, but to be in Spain, to be so close to all that history and art and beautiful country, would be something that I would love to experience. I wish I had traveled more, lived in Europe when I was younger. I know those what ifs suck, but I really need to change my situation, I am so unhappy here.

Ten years ago today I moved to Florida. I can’t believe it has already been 10 years. When I think back 10 years, I always think that is the 90s. I am getting old. I Still think that moving to Florida was one of the best decisions I had made, even though the reasons why wasn’t.

I really miss St. Pete. I miss the beaches and hte roads and palm trees, and lizards. I miss the warmth, the sea breazes. I miss the natural food stores and my friends I left there. I miss the boats, the water, and everything else.

Not much is going on in Oklahoma land. It has been cold, which has made me lazy and wanting to do nothing but lay next to the heater and bundle up to stay warm. I fucking hate the cold.

I fucking hate the cold.

I fucking hate the cold.

Well it has been a while since I have updated hasn’t it?

I have had the last 4 days off. Friday 11/11/11 was a federal holiday and so I took Turs off as well to make it a mini vacation. I had plans of getting a lot of things done, but didn’t get anything done at all. The rest was nice, but I needed to work on the house.

I just now found out that there is a MYtouch slide 4g. It has been out since July. I am behind the times. Fucking T-Mobile wants cash upfront, and no more partial months shit. Fuckers. So I need to come up with $275 for the phone.

Anyway. Things have started to get really cold here in Oklahoma. I don’t know how I am going to survive when it gets colder and starts to snow.

Oklahoma has been having a lot of earthquakes recently. It is really weird. I have never experienced an earthquake before and never heard of Oklahoma having any either. There was a 5.6 that I felt a week or so ago. I can mark that off my bucket list I guess. I have seen tornadoes, been through hurricaines, blizzards, ice storms, hail storms, 50+ days of 100+ degree tempatures and no rain, and earthquakes.

The kitties are getting along better and better. They have been playing with each other a lot lately, chasing each other around and stuff. Soon they will be best friends. I ahve been working on the toilet training with them. I am in the final stages of it. I have a metal pan in the toilet and have been working on getting them to use it in there. There have been a few times where it hasn’t been in the pan, but I think they are starting to warm up to it. I bought some litter that is suppsoed to be good for training kitties, called cat attract and once I know they are using the pan 100% I will replace it with the septic safe stuff and then start the process of slowly opening a hole in the pan until they are used to sitting on the seat. This has been the dificult process thus far because the pan and area is so small and one of them doesnt ‘understand it fully yet. They are such sweeties and so gentle. They are still a bit skiddish though. That will take some time though I think.

The other day Tammy and I went to the cake wrecks book signing thing. It was fun. I think that Tammy enjoyed it and was suprised at some of the cakes. She hasn’t been to the site yet, so all the cakes were new to her. It got her out of the house and stuff. We also went to the Whole Paycheck as well and I wish it wasn’t so far away because I would be going there instead of the Norman places if I could for my groceries. They have a much bigger selection and they have a deli as well. I wish that Natural Grocers put in a deli. It makes me sad that they didn’t.

Don’t you hate it when you decide to join as a free member and you get several messages from people “interested in you” but in order to see the messages you have to join, so you pay the $35 or whatever the fuck it was to join and they all turn out to be either scammers or profiles that suddenly don’t exist anymore (I am thinking it was a scam to make me join) So you try it out for a month, the entire month you don’t get any messages from anyone, even the ones you sent messages to, and then your paid membership expires and suddenly you get messages coming in again… It is really fishy to me.

Anyway, it has started to cool off here in Oklahoma, especially at night, so my immune system has suffered and I am sick now. I hate being sick. Especially when it goes into your nose, and it makes you tired and dizzy. Tired and dizzy and tired.

Not much else has been going on. Just work and sleep and still trying to get settled in. I am finally getting to the second bedroom. I was working on getting the bed arranged in the way I wanted until the footboard fell apart, so I had to stop that for the night and put some weldbond on it and let that set, and I haven’t been in there since because of my sickness.

I have been talking again to Mary for a little over a month now, and we are getting along swimmingly. She is such a nice person. Maybe one of these days we can meet again. I would love to go back to DC again.

Ya Ok it has been a while. I really need to get better at this but a lot of time there really isn’t much to say because there isn’t much going on.

I am still (yes still!!) working on getting shit unpacked and stuff. It seems to be a never ending project. I really need to get it done. I did a lot of work last weekend and will probably do more this weekend. I got a lot moved out of the small bedroom. I wish I had help with it. I am so indesive as to where to put things.

I have been contiuing to talk to Mary in email and on the phone. Things seem to be going well and I am enjoying talking to her again. I would realy like to spend some time with her again. I will probably more than likely go back to DC than her coming here. I would love to be able to do both.

So I have http://crazycomputing.net pretty much done. It is now live. I probably need to work on the knowledgebase in the future. I need to get some ideas of questions and answers to put up there. If you have any questions please ask here? Thanks!

I have started to work on getting vegsurf.com put together. I found the backend I think I am going to use. I am going to upload it tonight and see how it works. I think it has everything I need for it. After that I am going to completely revamp carrotjuice.org. What was carrotjuice is going to be on vegsurf, and carrotjuice is going to be a site for juices and smoothies and stuff I think. Most of the hits and questions I get has to do with that anyway, so why not?

I am not sure what to do after that. I am sure that this is a good 6 months of work right here.

It is already starting to get cold here in Oklahoma. I wish I had the heat back. I have a feeling I will be breaking out the heaters soon. I am going to need to buy an electric blanket soon as well. I should do that sometime in the next month. There is a lot of things I need to buy. This damn gas shit is kiling me. $400 a month is a lot of money. I wish I could cut that in half. It would help a lot. I am almost done paying off that stupid shit I need to pay off for the credit thing. That is an extra $135 a month.

Oh, and I want to see Dolphin Tale….

I had a nice three day weekend. On Monday night / Tue morning I got a hair up my ass and decided to open up a trunk that I have had here in Oklahoma and hasn’t been opened in at least 10 years. I opened it up and saw a lot of things that were long forgotten. In there was a lot of old school stuff, class pictures, projects, letters, and things from girlfriends from long ago. I also had an old boy scout uniform in there, which looks so tiny. I wore that thing up to getting my life rank. I remember when my mom first bought that shirt she bought it extra big for me so she wouldn’t have to buy a new one. It was really long I remember. Now I look back and don’t know how I fit into it as a young teen. There was also some old TV guides (like the 4 part star trek 30th anniversary series) and comic books in there. Unfortunately none of them are really worth anything right now. So those will be held onto probably until retirement. Maybe they will be worth more then. After I got done rifling through the trunk, I decided to go through a couple of shoe boxes to see what else I could find. I found old letters and postcards and birthday cards. It was pretty interesting. I didn’t read through a lot of the letters, there were too many. It made me wonder where old friends and acquaintances are now. What they are doing and if they are happy.

I have so much more to go on the house. I need to stop being lazy and get my ass in gear. I look at it and I just know it needs to be done. I just need the motivation.

On Monday I also walked around the farm, and went in my grandpa’s shed. I think to myself what this place would have been like if he were still alive. What he would have done to it. There are a lot of things that are still in the same place as where he had left them. There are buildings that he built that are detraining and falling apart. I don’t know what he would think about the place now. I wish I would have gotten to know him as a person. As an adult, instead of through those young child eyes.

So I can’t find my vonage box. 🙁 Found the power cord but no box. Hopefully I run into it soon. Bah!

I got one toilet done. The valve replacement was a big pain in the ass. It was one of those compression valves and the brass ring on the old one was dug into the copper pipe so it and the new ring was not making a seal. I ended up having to fill the nut and the ring with waterproof silicone and I used some teflon tape around the thread as well to make it nice and sealed. Used some silicone behind the nut too. I have a feeling if that valve ever needs to be replaced that is going to be a big pain in the ass to remove. If the seal ever breaks, my next step is buying a torch and sweating a thread end on the pipe. I got all the guts replaced in the toilet too, so I now have a fully functioning dual flush toilet.

http://projectpostcard.org seems to be picking up a little. I am getting hits but not much people staying. Search paterns indicate they are searching for things in relation to the postcards, and not of the theme of the site, not sure what I can do to improve that. Meta tags and searchable info on site lays out something different but ya. In the next coming week or so I need to get some banners put together and create a page with banners so people can share the love. I am also working on getting http://crazycomputing.net v2 put together since I am now in Oklahoma and it needs a big facelift too. I am almost done with it. A couple of tweeks here and there and everything will be good.

Tommorow is payday and the money is already all gone. Gas is really eating my lunch. It needs to go back down to $1.50 a gallon. Then maybe I can afford to go to work.

My first car was a 1977 Volkswagen Rabbit. It was a 4 door green. It was a car that my dad had bought before when he was living in Denver after he totaled his Ford Pinto. When he moved to Oklahoma it was there and sat in the garage for years. I think that a gasket or rod was blown in the engine or something like that. Anyway, His graduation gift to me was he took the car into Wilsons VW salvage and repair in Lexington. They replaced the engine with an 86 VW Fox 1.8 liter. Wilsons was an icon in Lexington. It was a huge salvage yard for Volkswagens, had a VW bug on top of it’s sign, and Leroy Wilson built a black widow spider and planted it just north of the shop where a now long gone ¼ mile round speedway was. I have fond memories of that place. Leroy Wilson died in 2000. His daughter tried to keep the business alive for a while before she gave up and closed the business down. Sadly a lot of the parts and cars that were in the salvage area got destroyed along with.

After the business closed, a used car dealership sprang up in its place. They kept the VW bug on top of the sign and kept the building intact, so the place was still there. The car dealership lasted for a few years, but it closed down as well. Since then the shell of a building has stood there as a memory of my childhood’s past. A monument of how things were, and the landmark that I was getting close to grandma and grandpas house.

Well, on Friday on my way to work I decided to head on down to the post office to check my mail, and near where the bug sign was I saw big hauler trucks and bulldozers and emptiness where I thought Wilsons once stood. I thought it seemed strange to see emptiness there but wasn’t really paying attention to where I was at, so I didn’t confirm it in my head that is what had happened. Saturday night I drove by the place on my way home from work, and all that remains is the sign.

I hope the sign doesn’t go. It would be sad to see that bug in the sky gone. Luckily the land that the speedway was on was bought by a church and the pastor kept the iconic black widow bug in place and intact.

I had fond memories in that Rabbit. It was my first car. I had a lot of other firsts in that car as well. The big problem was that since it sat around for so long everything around the engine started to fall apart and it was a big money pit. I finally decided to get rid of it when I wore the breaks down so much that it no longer breaked. In order for me to fix it would have cost me $800 or so. I gave up on her. I shouldn’t have. I really should have kept it.

I think I am going to start looking and buy myself another Rabbit and work on rebuilding it and restoring it. It will be Babs II. I really do miss that car. It was a lot of fun to drive.

So I am a week or two into my new (regular) shift and so far so good. I really like the job. It is fairly easy and the people on the phones are a lot more pleasant to talk to than the ones I had the pleasure of talking to on my last job. If the drive wasn’t so long it would be absolutely perfect.

It has been extremely hot here in Oklahoma. It has been weeks of temperatures above 100, with very little rain. I thought I was used to the heat living in Florida, however this is hotter, and the wind is hot. Florida with the water surrounding it, I don’t think I ever saw it above 95, and the breeze is cool because of the water cooling it down, so at least the breeze was nice. I feel like I am in a furnace, and have been having to use my AC a lot. Well, at least it isn’t snowing.

The other day I looked out my kitchen window and I saw a little Eastern or Florida Box Turtle. I had to run out and get him and bring him in. He is really cute. I have pictures on my phone however I don’t’ get a good signal at work, so I cant send them to myself. Once I get home I will update with pictures. I haven’t named him het. I was thinking of Jake, but not sure. For some reason that name is sticking with me. He seems really shy, however that just could be that he is a bit scared and stuff. I set out some food and water for him to eat, he hasn’t touched it yet, but when he gets hungry enough he will I am sure. Well, I just looked up a box turtle web site and looked at sexing them. It looks like makes and females are different than water turtles, where the female is more round and the male is more flat, so I may have another female. So Jake may be Jakette or something. I will have to think about it.

I finally got on that Google+ site. So far it seems pretty cool. Will be better once more people join up. If you are there you can find me under Natures Revenge. Look for the dinosaur eating the fish.

Don’t forget! http://projectpostcard.org Thanks!

Ya ok it has been a really really long time. It has been a busy last couple of months for me.

I moved from Florida back to Oklahoma the March 22nd and started looking for a job pretty much right after I got there. One of the places I just randomly applied at was Chickasaw Nation for a help desk job. Within a couple of hours after I applied I got a call. Within a week I had an interview and a week or so after that I started working. My first day was April 22nd. Kind of cool that I was working a month after the move. I know that there are not a lot of people who are that lucky. The job is pretty cool. I work at the FAA center just west of Will Rogers Airport as a level 1 helpdesk. The job for the most part is very easy and not as stressful as Bright House was. I get paid the same if not a couple of cents over. Well my actual pay is a couple of dollars less but then CNI pays a couple of dollars more an hour to pay for the benefits. The only benefits I don’t get is the free cable and internet that bright house had. The thing that does suck is the drive is 40-45 miles each way. I am spending $400 a month on gas compared to $100 – $120 in Florida. I am driving as many miles a day as I did a week in Florida. I am getting really worried about this and am probably going to need to find a car that gets better gas mileage or in 6 months hopefully a job at CNI will open up that is in the main office in Norman. That would be cool, because I like working for the Chickasaws. I like being able to work for the Indians without having a casino job. I do like the fact that I am in a way working for the FAA as well. It makes up for the fact that I didn’t make it but three months in the Navy.

I spent about a month living in the big house until Wendy came down and went through grandma’s house and cleaned it out. I moved in a week later and have spent the rest of the time trying to unpack and organise and stuff. I am not done yet but I am slowly getting there. Slowly but surely. I try to do something daily, not always doing so though. With the hour drive to and from work it grinds on you and you just want to go home and rest. I have lost weight since being here. I am down to 119lbs. When I started I was 235. So about 15 lbs in a year and a halfish.

Anyway I am back in Oklahoma. Don’t know how long I will be here. Hopefully for a while. It was expensive moving.
