Ok, I have been back from vacation for a few days now. I guess I should talk about it. (It only took me a month to post…)

On Sunday I woke up early and flew into Denver. I found myself a little bar in the concourse and had a Fat Tire from draft. It was so good. I savoured every bit of that beer. I miss it and wish it was available here.

I got into Oklahoma by about 5pm or so. Dad took me to his favourite Mexican restaurant and we had some food. After that we went home and I unpacked and tried to stay warm in that house. It is such a big house that it would cost $800 a month to heat, so he uses oil heaters to keep the bedroom warm and only warms it when he gets home, so it is cold and takes a while to rewarm.

The next day I hung out with my dad for a while and then headed up to visit Tammy for a while. It was good seeing her again and she was in the process of moving to her new home, so I helped her with that and getting things in order.

On Tuesday I helped my dad get his TV hooked up and stuff and relaxed and stuff.

On Wednesday I headed up to Tammy’s house and hung out with her. Sat in her car as she ran her fivety billion errands and stuff then ate at Olive Garden. I ended up staying the night there but sleeping on her floor, and then the next day spent helping her with her tree and arranging things and watching her clean. We went out to eat and ate at PF Changs. We didn’t know we were going to eat there but ended up there. At first we were going to eat at a little Thai place in down town OKC but that place turned out to be nasty, so then we were on the hunt for some place different and two hours later we were there.

On Friday I hung out with my dad and helped him shop for stuff and ate at Mamavicas again. As well as went to see my grandma at the nursing home. It was sad to see her there and to know that she is pretty much a living breathing shell.

Saturday I spent time looking through grandmas home and taking pictures of it.

On Monday I drove around with my dad while he was working and saw a bit of OKC. After he was done I headed up to Tammy’s house and we went out to the movies at the Warren Theatre and sat in the balcony and saw a movie called The Tourist. It was pretty good. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were in it. After that we ate at Chillis and then I had to go home to wake up early for the flight home.

On Tuesday I woke up at 4 am to get on a flight to Denver. There I met up with Jewel and we proceeded to down town Denver to eat at a vegetarian restaurant called Watercress. I had really good vegan buckwheat pancakes with Earth Balance and she had a really good breakfast borrito. For desert I had a rich chocolate peanut butter bar and then we drove around Downtown Denver a bit, stopping at Wax Trax. Then we drove down Colfax and I saw a few old theatres I saw many many concerts at. Brings back memories. I miss Denver. Once we got to Jewels house we saw all her rescued chickens (she has about 20 of them) and pig and parrots and cats and dogs. We talked and caught up on things. We are going to have to visit each other more often I think. I definitely need to get back up to Denver again soon. I miss that place. Before I knew it, it was time to go back to the airport to go home. Time just went by way too fast. While at the airport I had time for a couple more Fat Tires before the plane boarded. Then I was off back to reality.

Well I am on my flight to Denver now. Four hours until I get my hands and lips around a nice tasty Fat Tire. I am so fucking tired. Working until 1130pm and then waking up at 5 am sucks. There is someone in this plane who has some really stinky food and it is making me sick to my stomach. I am not sure what it is but it is pretty pungent.

I always over pack and bring way too much stuff on trips. I always think well what if this and what if that and then when I get there I usually never use half the stuff I need. It must be the boy scout in me. I always bring my video camera and end up never using it. I brought it with me this time as well, but I am going to use it dammit! Right now I am using my netbook and the main reason why I brought it is so I could have a small compact computer for the actual flight, and I also brought my laptop so I would have a full computer when I am there. Two computers, one trip both being used, so I guess that is ok. The laptop is just too big to be used on a plane. I tried it before and quickly gave up.

There is no one sitting in between me and the guy in the isle so I have a bit more room to spread out my fat ass. Hopefully it will be like this on my way to Oklahoma as well. It is going to be really cold in both places., Hopefully I brought enough coats and will be warm enough for the trip. I didn’t bring any long johns or anything like that. I really shouldn’t need them. It isn’t like it is going to be below zero or anything like that.

I have been talking with my dad about the move to Oklahoma and it seems like every way to do this is going to end up costing around two grand. I am getting concerned about cost and money and stuff, but dad says not to worry, I guess he is going to help out. Once I get back to Tampa I need to start looking for jobs seriously so I have at least a few interviews lined up when I do move. I am going to try to not do anything customer service, or at least nothing that is facing the general public. I am so burned out with that stuff. I am getting tired of dealing with idiots and being berated and yelled at and stuff. Even an internal help desk will be good because it will be internal company people who cant yell at me. Even if they are going to be idiots. Anyway…

O really hope that this time moves really slow. I need to just relax and enjoy and not think about things for a while. Even though Oklahoma isn’t the ideal vacation spot. I guess in a few months Florida will be the vacation spot. However I want to see more than what I have seen and go the Caribbean and back to DC and Mexico and Europe some time. I just need to win the lottery and be able to live a leisurely life for the rest of my life. I deserve it right??? Right…

Anyway. Soon I am going to have coffee from the airport stewardess. I need coffee. It is 9 am right now and it is still way before my normal waking time. I can smell it even over the pungent smell and it is good. Hopefully it tastes as good as it smells. Come to me sweet bean juice. Come to me my pretty.

So when I went through he airport screening th8ing there wasn’t even a metal detector anymore, just that dammed naked machine. I was smart this time in I didn’t wear jeans, so no need for a belt and no need for my pants to come down. I wore sweat pants. The pockets in the sweat pants suck so I couldn’t put anything in them other than my chap stick because otherwise everything would fall out. I had to use a fanny pack. It is too small, so I will have to buy a bigger one. Hopefully I will find one in Oklahoma. Anyway. The coffee is ok. Typical generic cheep coffee. At least it isn’t old.

I wish this netbook had an internal gps in it so I could see where I was at. I have nothing on this computer so I can’t even watch a movie or anything. I will have to remember that for my flight home. I am listening to music on my sansa, but I need some more entertainment. I have some movies on lappy, but again not enough room to pull that out to watch a movie. I wonder why I can’t see my windows partition on Netty. Oh I can see it. It is labeled as Windows in root. Well I do have religious on here. I guess I could watch that again. Well, can’t watch it. Don’t have the proper codec installed. No internet connection to download. Bah! Ok going to try to nap now I guess.

Ok, so over the weekend I went down to Key West with my friend Carol. It was a pretty good and relaxing trip. It was cool to see the beautiful blue and green water on the way down. There were lots of boats and big homes through out the keys. It was definitely a beautiful drive. When we got to the hotel we had a nice room with a hot tub witch we never did get to utilize. After we rested a bit we took the hotel shuttle down to the touristy part of Key west and walked around a bit and watched the sunset. Then we looked for a place to eat and ended up at Margeritaville. The food was ok. I ended up having a boca burger which was nice that they had it on the menu, but the food was just above fast food in quality. After that we spent a couple of more hours walking around and getting lost and then went back to the hotel and watched liar liar and drank some more.

The next day we ended up not getting out until around 1, found a middle eastern/Greek restaurant close to the hotel and had hummus and I had a really good middle eastern wrap with grilled eggplant and peppers and put hummus on that too. After we ate we drove around Key west some more, then changed into swimming trunks and drove to Ft Zachery and spent a while on the beach and in the water. Then we went back to the hotel, showered and went back to the touristy part in the shuttle, watched the sunset and walked around some more. Ate at an ok Thai place, although they did have some good fried dumpling things. After walking around some more we went back to the hotel and rested some more.

On Tue we did the final things we hadn’t gotten to yet like went to a lighthouse, saw mile marker 0 and took pictures of big cruise ships. Then we drove back home to reality. All and all it was a good trip, and it was nice to get away from it all. Hopefully the oil shit won’t ruin it all and they will be able to clean it up before it gets down here. It is just too beautiful to get ruined.

I am not sure what is happening with the flog. I am thinking of doing a flicker thing and uploading there. If and when I do I will let you know. Stay posted.

So it has been a while. There is really nothing much to report. I have been slacking off in getting the video together. Something that I am not happy with, but I have let it lapse none the less.

I am down to the Keys this weekend. Should be fun. Need to get prepped for it and stuff. Woo hooo!

I am still working on saving for the NAS. It is slow moving. I think the mid year bonus is here soon, and the check for the 16th is pretty much bill free (minus trip costs) so that should be helpful.

During the 11 years that I was a cook I have worked with a lot of people from many different countries. Latins, Malaysians, Europeans, and more. They all were good people just trying to feed their families and make it in the world. I don’t know what their immigration status was, and I really don’t and didn’t care. From my American history classes I remember studying about people who came to the US from all over coming here because it was the land of opportunity, it was the land of the free. If you worked hard you could live the American dream. It seams that over time we have forgotten about this and a lot of people don’t want people from other countries to come here. The government has made it harder for people to come here, and people are afraid that immigrants “will take their jobs” even though most of the people who come here work jobs that most U.S. citizens will not do their selves or are not qualified or educated enough to do. It is pretty sickening. It reminds me of the movie “A Day Without a Mexican” where people woke up one day and all the latin workers disappeared. It caused chaos and put things to a halt. Yes, I understand the need to lock our borders down. However I think part of ensuring national security is opening the borders to allow more people to move here, to at least work here and work on becoming citizens if that is what they want to do. They can pay taxes and as long as they have been veted with a background check then they can be here. There are good people coming here to provide for their families who are good people. Let them come. Lets make it so the people who come here illegally are the kind of people who the police would want to stop. The criminals, the terrorists. That is how it should work. We are wasting too many resources criminalizing people who just want a piece of the American dream. Oh, we need to stop the war on drugs too. We need to make them tax revenues, not tax burdens. But that is a different debate all together.

Last night I installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on Lappy. So far so good. Everything installed nicely. I am going to try to use it primarily on the laptop to see how it works and stuff. I still need to import stuff over from Win 7 and get some things installed and up and running, but so far so good with the little bit I used it today.

Kim is coming out May 4-13th. I got a call from Tammy today and they bought the plane ticket while on the phone with me. I am not quite ready financially for her to come out, but she realizes that and understands I won’t be able to take much time off for her. She still has friends out here, and she says she can take the bus too, so that is good. It might set me back a bit with tfvc, but hopefully not. I am not planning on spending a lot of cash on her, not like I will have much anyway.

Today I found a great place to do my DVDs and cook book when they happen through createspace.com which is actually an Amazon back end. It is perfect because there are no setup fees and stuff. I also found a place that does ethical clothing as well. I am going to be using like 4 different companies to do my stuff for this site. Hopefully it will not get too convoluted.

I wish I could have them all go through one source, or at least one payment portal, but that would be in a dream world. I am thinking about moving my other sites off of cafepress and onto zazzle. I need to log into cafepress and see if I can download the originals, I don’t think I have them anywhere anymore. I need to search when I get home to see if I have them.

I have had a recurring dream the last few days or so. I am at a strange airport with some friends (who I don’t know) waiting for my layover which I know is at least 6 and a half hours. Everyone decides to go their separate way and I run into a friend, (who was not a part of the original group) Jewel. It was weird running into her because she didn’t know I was going to be there (I think) and she had her own agenda and was on a long layover too. (maybe overnight or weather related or because that is how airlines like to fuck us). Anyway we are both surprised to see each other and hug and decide to hang out. We end up somewhere on those airport chairs and are resting. I am slouching on the chair and she is resting her head and chest on my shoulder, neck, and chest with her hand on my chest as well. That is all I can remember of it. I remember how nice it was.

I put my self on the scale today and I have lost nine pounds since the end of Jan. I am glad I am still on the losing track, however I was hoping to lose a bit more by now. I am still doing pretty good on everything. A little slip here and there, but that happens.

My house has felt so empty since Tammy left. I can still see and smell remnants of her being here, and I remember all her girl things (lotions, sprays, soaps) . It definitely makes me realize how lonely I am and how much I am missing out on life and a partner with having someone stay with you a week and then suddenly disappear. We aren’t even dating and there wasn’t sex involved and I am so pathetic over her visiting. I am pathetic. I don’t even know why I allow myself to get this way since I am such a gross specimen of a man. Anyway…

Another thing I can’t stop getting out of my head is how we were treated at Sublime. The hostess was snotty, same with the waitress. And when we went into the retail area of the restaurant (after I had already dropped a bill on dinner) Tammy noticed that they were both looking at us and watching us, then they continued to look and watch when we went to the bar to pay for the things we picked up which I noticed when the bartender was adding up our stuff. I put my displeasure on the Sublime fb page but it has since been removed without any response from them. So that makes things even more bitter in my mouth for them. I guess if I want to eat at an all vegan restaurant again, instead of driving 5 hours I will have to go to DC.

Ok, so I didn’t make any updates while actually on vacation, so I guess this will be a fairly long post as to what happened whilst on.

Kim was supposed to come in on Thursday the 11th. Tammy dropped her off at the airport nice and early and left her in line to be checked in. I got to the airport on time around 4pm and due to weather delays here in Tampa (tornadoes and bad weather) flights into Tampa was delayed and diverted. Her flight was scheduled to come in at 8:30. I waited around until 10 to find out what was going on. From the info I could find out at the baggage people she never made it on the flight in Chicago, but that was the most I could get out of that. Once I got home Tammy and I (Tammy never heard from Kim all day so as far as she knew Kim was on the flight) called the airline cs people and got a different answer every time. I finally got an answer from one of them by pushing the issue with them and they said that she never even boarded in OKC. Tammy found Kim at her house the next day mad and not wanting to talk about what happened. All that stress and Kim was back home. A call with a voice mail w0uld have saved all that hassle.

Fast forward to Sunday. Tammy’s plane was delayed by around 3 hours but I knew it ahead of time and got there right when the plane landed and got a call from her a few minutes later. We then headed on over to Queen of Sheeba and she got Ethiopian for the first time. After that we headed on over to wally world to get her some things she needed but didn’t have room to pack on the plane. After we headed on to my house to relax a bit.

Monday we were going to go to Bunny Hop to have their buffet, but after we sat down the waitress said it wasn’t all you can eat, so we left looking for something different. We ended up at Mama Fus and had great food. She loved the tofu. Then we went to Target for some more provisions and then down to the beach. It was cold and windy so we didn’t stay there long. We headed up to Johns Pass and stayed there an hour or so, then dropped by Carol’s house for a few minutes.

On Tuesday we hung around the house for a while, then went to Carmilitas to eat dinner. That night we went to Gulfport and saw Sterling “Mr Satan” McGee and Adam Glasgow. It was really cool seeing them again. Satan in a 72 year old blues singer and guitarist from Mississippi. He is a legend I am glad to have seen.

Wednesday we went to Rollin Oats and had a bad experience with her food making it out so we ended up going to Evos. She really liked her food. After we went to Weeden Island Preserve and walked around the trails and enjoyed the trails. After that we went to Thai Basil and had some really good Thai. Then we went home and relaxed. After her shower I told her that she needs to start packing. She looked at me like, ok… Why are you kicking me out? I told her to pack her swimming trunks, something nice and then something casual.

Thursday (Tammy’s Birthday) we left for a trip down to Ft. Lauderdale. I left her in the dark the entire time as to where we were going. She was just there along for the ride the entire time. We got to the hotel around 4:30pm, relaxed a little bit then headed on over to Sublime to eat her birthday dinner. Sublime is an all vegan restaurant. It was really good. We both had chicken picatta (she tried the lentil loaf but didn’t like it, there was something slimy in there). After that we went back to the hotel, and relaxed some more.

The next morning we woke up bright and early to see the sun rise on the beach. It was really pretty. Then we went back to the hotel, relaxed and got ready for the day. We headed back for the beach and laid out and played in the water. Then we went to all the shops and went swimming suit and souvenir shopping. In one place I accidentally dropped a bunch of stone rings and caused a big mess. Tammy found a really nice three piece swimming suit priced at around $180 for $60. After shopping we ate. Tammy had Mahi and I had a veggie sandwich. Then we stopped by Wild Oats, got some Tings (she loves them) and headed home. We got home around 9pm, watched a movie and then went to bed.

Saturday we went back to Mama Fus, and this time the food sucked, Tammy’s food was burned, twice. She played with her food the second time around and ate what she could since it wasn’t burned as bad, but didn’t have the same flavor as it should have. Then we went to Sawgrass Lake Park and walked around looking at nature and finding alligators for Tammy. We found a few baby ones, and although they weren’t full grown adults, she was happy with that. After we headed over to the beach and laid out and went shelling and saw the sun set. It was a beautiful one and a great ending to the week. Tammy’s flight was on time until she actually got to the plane and was on the other side of security, then was delayed another couple of hours of course. I wish it was marked delayed before so we could have had time to maybe eat lunch before she left.

Anyway, I had a great time and it went by way too fast. It was so lonely after she left. The house felt empty and made me realize how alone and lonely I am.

Ok, so cleaning is going. I have had to do that and fix my dad’s computer and now I have another computer I need to fix as well, so that is taking up a bit of my cleaning time. My dad’s is pretty much done except for a part that I stupidly bought from China so it is taking forever to get here. I may just run up to Compusa and buy it there.

I got a Sunpass for the trip down to ft Lauderdale so I don’t need to worry about paying tolls and stuff. I got a hotel booked. It is at a La Quinta. Looks like a nice hotel. I was happy at the one in Daytona.

Today I finally got the clothes over to the Goodwill place. Three less bags for me to trip over. I found out yesterday also that the bed frame I have been using for the futon mattress is bent beyond use so I am going to have to buy a new frame for that. I found a good futon frame on Craigslist for $75. Hopefully it will fit in my car. I need to go to the bank tomorrow and get the $$ before I forget. I also need to get rid of some CRT monitors and I think the best way is to pawn them. I don’t care if I only get $10 each for them. I need to rid myself of them.

So much to do. 18 days left…
